As part of our efforts to be a green state, Penang Green Council will be organising the XOX Penang International Green Carnival 2014 from 13-14 September. There will be a number of international exhibitors and foreign speakers from Japan, Singapore, Philippines, Australia and US.
More than 90 international and local companies and environmental organizations are coming to share their experiences and solutions for climate change through better management of energy, water and waste. Among which are US based First Solar, Australia based Solar Naturally, Kawasaki City Government and many.
There will also be speakers from prominent foreign environmental organizations including Singapore Environment Council (SEC), Moreland Energy Foundation (MEFL, Melbourne), Global Environment Centre Foundation (GEC, Japan), Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES), World Wide Fund For Nature-Malaysia (WWF-Malaysia) etc.
The carnival is a family event with many fun filled and inspiring activities such as Escape Greenie and Green Challenge, Assembly Solar Kits Contest, Grab a Free Plant, ICT Mall E-waste Collection, Final Round of King of the Green Chef Competition II, JCI Green Wheel, and so on. XOX Mobile will be giving out 500 tumblers for visitors who bring their own containers to low carbon diet at food junction on Sunday (14 Sep). PGC invites members of the public to one of the 8500 participants in the attempt of breaking the Malaysia Book of Records through Green Power@ Chicken Dance.
The XOX Penang International Green Carnival 2014 is the continuation of the annual Green Expo organized by Penang Green Council (PGC). The Green Carnival’s theme this year is “Be the Solution, ACCT Now! “, ACCT being the acronym for “Against Climate Change Today”. This carnival aims to be a platform to educate our visitors the impact of climate change and solutions for climate change.
