The Alliance Française de Penang will organize a one day event for the Music Day/Fête de la Musique on Sunday, June 14th, 2015 at Gurney Plaza, Penang. This outdoor event will be an openstage: each artist or group, after having submitted their songs and titles for approval, will be able to playon stage. Our aim is to promote local bands, to allow artists to meet each others, to allow the public to discover different musical styles and create a positive dynamic around music. It gives an opportunity to communicate and share a very special moment through music.
Traditionally, this French Festival takes place every year on the 21st of June over the world. Bands perform in the street, cafés, concerts halls and the whole night is dedicated to free music and expressing yourself through dancing and singing.
Completely different from a music festival, the Fête de la Musique is above all a free popular festival open to any participant (amateur or professional musicians) who wants to perform in it. This Music day allows the expression of all styles of music in a cheerful atmosphere. It aims at a large audience, working to popularise musical practice for young and not so young people from all social backgrounds.
