The Penang State Government proudly presents ‘Asia’s 1st Transformers Street Art’, available for viewing at the Esplanade from 19 July 2015 to 17 September 2015.
With the gigantic Optimus Prime & Bumblebee standing on guard at the Esplanade, find time to have fun with an amazing display of creativity and heritage as these Autobots find themselves in their first outdoor artsy adventure! With a line of containers serving as the canvas, this is your chance to see OptimusPrime and Bumblebee becoming Penang-lang (Penangites in Hokkien dialect)for this very limited period of time. Be part of their street art journey with snapshots and selfies but don’t forget to spot famous Penang landmarks like KOMTAR, the Penang Bridge and many others too!
This Transformers-themed street art exhibition is made possible by the artistic talents, immense imagination and effort of young art students (most of whom are Penangites, a fact that we’re proud of) from the One Academy Penang. The One Academy Penang is the Creative Partner for this first ever Transformers Street Art exhibition in Asia.
Roll out at the Esplanade with the gigantic Optimus Prime & Bumblebee from 10th July onwards and return again with your family and friends from 19th July onwards for photo opportunities with the exclusive Transformers street artworks. There will also be a contest organised by the Penang Global Tourism where the best submitted creative shots taken with these artworks will stand to win special edition Transformers collectibles!
